Post COVID, Mumbai welcomes Art again, after a 9-month hiatus with Art Adda, a unique event at Jolly Board Towers, I-Think Campus E Wing, Kanjurmarg East, hosted by India’s Consul General to Czech Republic Rashmi Jolly and master artist Gautam Patole of Art Desh Foundation, in association with Secular Art Movement. The Art Adda, a one-of-its-kind open air, live Art show, with live canvas paintings, workshops and demonstrations sees the participation of noted artists from different cities of India. Actors Preeti Jhangiani, Pooja Bedi and Angela Krislinzki graced the inaugural ceremony that also witnessed the presence of Rashmi Jolly, Gautam Patole, Dr.Agarwal, Bharat Patel, Anisha Jolly, Rupali Patole among various talented artists. People mingled with each other, shared ideas, interacted with visitors and created great works of Art. There were live demos, workshops, discussions etc while strictly adhering to social distancing norms.
“These have been trying times for all of us and we do not know when this ordeal will get over. No exhibitions, no galleries and no events… Art Adda will be a welcome break,” says Rashmi Jolly who is also Executive Director and Vice Chairperson of Jolly Board Ltd. and an ardent art lover who has graciously offered a beautifully-landscaped office complex of Jolly Board Ltd. for art activities.
Adds Gautam Patole, “Artistes like to breathe fresh air. Art Adda signifies that. Creativity cannot be stifled; circumstances cannot rule us. We must overcome the hurdles and move on.”
The ambience of Art Adda inspires one to paint… With Art Adda providing canvas, drawing paper, colours, tea/coffee snacks and lunch, all the artists and sculptors bring their brushes and their spirit!
About 15 artists participated in the inaugural event. Artists from Pune and Hyderabad showcased their skills on canvas. This was perhaps the first time that this kind of live painting work was conducted in the city for the public at large. There will also be workshops, demonstrations, classes et al, in the future.
Says Gautam Patole, “There are many known artists and art professors who live around the campus. There is an organisation called Secular Movement that is doing commendable work for artists living in this area. Mr Bharat Shelke, working President of Secular Movement was thrilled to know that Jolly Art Adda is offering encouraging facilities to the artists.”

Gurcharan Singh and Harcharan Singh of HRG Films will be filming on the sets around the GTA (Greater Toronto Area)for 25 days with six of those days showcasing breathtaking views of Niagara Falls.
The film will star Roshan Prince who is an accomplished singer, producer, musician, songwriter and actor and will co-star with the beautiful and talented actress Payal Rajput , a winner of SIIMA -South Indian International Movie Awards for Best Female Debut in 2019.
Director Gurcharan Singh wants to showcase his talent and passion for the film and says, “We want to bring the colourful and incredible world of Bollywood to Toronto and employ local talent and local film crews.” Producer and business partner Harcharan Singh adds, “We couldn’t think of a better, more beautiful setting for our winter wonderland Punjabi movie.”
In this story, Prince and Rajput meet when a chance encounter happens due to u-turns in their destiny. Together Rajput and Prince will navigate through their turbulent romance, all the while putting the spotlight on the beautiful backdrop of a classic Canadian winter.
The supporting cast will include Punjabi film stars Gurpreet Ghuggi, Mahabir Bhullar,Yaad Grewal, & Satwant Kaur. The film will have high level of production values akin to a Bollywood movie thereby giving it a unique place in the Punjabi film industry.

If that isn’t enough, he is a world-acclaimed Tibetan activist, international rock-u-mentary filmmaker and now writer-director Shenpenn Khymsar is rewriting history by making Broken Wings, the first Nepali-Hindi-English film from Darjeeling, 72 years after Indian independence.
“Broken Wings is the first true representation of the Northeast. To an average Indian, Nepali means momos, security guards and a regiment. In an artistic sense, I am asking for inclusion of people from the Northeast.”
It has not been an easy journey for Khymsar. Born in exile, the struggle to find his true self and the want to go back home seems an eternal quest. “Tibet needs to be free,” he says simply. The rebel in Khymsar has always tried to rebuild his broken wings through the medium of cinema. His unconventional effort of combining political filmmaking with entertainment, mirroring the frustration of an entire young generation in the hills of North-Eastern India is evident in both his documentary ‘Journey of a Dream’ and his current feature, Broken Wings.

US State Senator, politician, lawyer and Vice-Presidential running mate Kamala Devi Harris has scripted history by being the first Indian-American or African-American woman to be appointed as the Vice-Presidential running mate.
It is a known fact that Kamala Harris has a huge support base in the Indian-American community. Indian-born Hollywood producer, philanthropist and serial entrepreneur Tel K Ganesan is excited at the power push for the senator as it “sends a message of hope to young girls of colour, and any immigrant, for that matter.”
Ganesan, who met Harris at Detroit, Michigan during her political run for the primary race of the Democratic presidential ticket, avers that Harris is “high energy, positive, upbeat and a bubbly person.” Ganesan had an instant connect with her. “We shared wonderful, happy moments. She is very friendly. It is much like talking to a friendly neighbour.” Both Ganesan and Harris’s mother Shyamala Gopalan hail from Chennai. “We very briefly spoke in Tamil – vanakkam and nandri. We did talk about sambar,” he grins.
Though Harris considers herself black, she has also spoken of her Indian roots. Harris has worked in international development around the world and return to live in villages throughout India in the mid-90s. Her matrilineal family of strong South Indian women has always been her inspiration. Her mother is a Tamilian from Chennai, and had moved to the US for higher studies. Her father is Donald Harris, of Jamaican descent. Ganesan is very proud of Harris’s achievement. “As an immigrant, it is a great inspiration. She already has a track record of breaking barriers. She started off as the first person of color in the office of the district attorney in San Francisco as a tough prosecutor and later as California Attorney General before winning the Senate seat four years ago. Harris is also the first person of Indian descent to ever get on the presidential ticket. Harris amassed more than $35 million over 11 months despite challenges that black women candidates face in raising money. If the Biden-Harris ticket wins, Harris will be the highest-ranking female US official in the country’s 244-year history. And it is not just that, Biden who would be 78 if he wins, might only serve a single four-year term, instantly making Harris a leading 2024 Democratic Presidential contender. She serves on several high-profile committees in the Senate including the Intelligence Committee and the Judiciary Committee.”
Ganesan believes that such a historic move is only possible in a country like the United States. “Hope fuels life and hope fuels opportunities. This will address the bottom-line issue of under-representation of women and minorities on US public company boards and will match the changing demographics we are experiencing in the country today.”

Statistics reveal that 42% of women in the US have faced gender discrimination at work. Even in the military, women represent 16% of the enlisted forces and 19% of the office corps. “Kamala Harris’s rise opens up the dream of women and minorities sharing the same power, privileges, rights and opportunities as the privileged and is a giant stride for women in politics. WORKING with the “Queen”Kangana Ranaut is just like a creator painting his dreams into reality. Filmmaker Atul Arora from Los Angeles is inching closer to his wish of directing his dream and talented actress Kangana Ranaut for his upcoming untitled Hindi feature film.
Speaking about his new upcoming venture, director Atul Arora confides, “It is a woman-centric film. My writer Pratik, an ad-filmmaker has narrated the script to Kangana ji and I have been told that the script has been liked and appreciated and she is willing to work with me. The coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown thereon had put a spanner to the project for some time. Meanwhile, with the unlocking of 4.0 guidelines things are coming back to normal. After coming on board and signing below the dotted lines we will very soon make an official announcement about it.”
Kangana Ranaut is known for her outspoken behaviour. She has been quite vocal about her opinions on many issues including actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his death case. The actor passed away on June 14 at his Bandra residence and since then a lot of conspiracy theories have been doing the rounds.
Voicing his support, Arora says, “Success hasn’t come easy for Kangana Ranaut and it is after a lot of struggle that she has made it to where she is today. While on Sushant Singh Rajput he has been doing very well in terms of his film career. I have watched his films “Chhichhore” and “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” and liked his performances too. It sounds surprising and hard to believe that he could have committed suicide at this point of his career. On the other hand, It is true that any outsiders who are not a part of the film fraternity are not encouraged or backed upon if they opt for a career in the film industry. I basically feel that all new and deserving talents in various categories should be given the necessary platforms and support.”

He further added that Governments of Latin America, including Panama have opened up their markets and reduced import tariffs. They are privatizing their state enterprises. They are according priority to the modernization/improvement of existing infrastructure and creation of new infrastructure, mega-engineering projects, energy projects, and IT & ITES, in which Indian companies have earned international reputation. He also added in Information Technology sector, Indian IT firms are also establishing business partnerships in LAC countries. The region has a huge pool of multi-lingual, cost-effective professionals which Indian companies are leveraging for a near-shore business model. Under this model, Indian companies use the units in the region for providing services to their North American clients for 12 hours from the same time zone, and the remaining 12 hours from India.
Indian companies can work towards leveraging the opportunities arising from the growth in demand for IT products and services within the region. “पनामा मीट्स इंडिया” नामक इस कार्यक्रम को पनामा के, भारत में आदरणीय अम्बेस्डर मिस्टर रिकार्डो बेरना का सहयोग प्राप्त था। इस डेलीगेशन में मिस्टर रिचर्ड किलबोर्न (नेशनल इन्वेस्टमेंट निदेशक), मिनिस्टर ऑफ कॉमर्स एंड इंडस्ट्री (रिपब्लिक ऑफ पनामा) और पंजाबी पनामानियाँ मिस्टर हरदीप भुल्लर (ये पनामा के मिनिस्ट्री ऑफ कॉमर्स एंड इंडस्ट्री में, मार्केटिंग इन्वेस्टमेंट एंड प्रोमोशन के निदेशक हैं) शामिल थे।
कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत वर्ल्ड ट्रेड सेंटर की सीनियर डायरेक्टर मिस रूपा नाइक ने अतिथियों का स्वागत कर किया, जिसके बाद मिस्टर राजकुमार शर्मा (ILAC प्रेसिडेंट) द्वारा ट्रेड एंड इन्वेस्टमेंट पर एक खास प्रेजेंटेशन प्रस्तुत किया गया।

बॉलीवुड दिग्गज दुष्यंत सिंह द्वारा निर्देशित फीचर फिल्म द हंड्रेड बक्स का प्रमोशन श्रीलंका की राजधानी कोलंबो में संपन्न हुआ उपरोक्त कार्यक्रम में श्रीलंका के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति श्री महेंद्र राजा पक्ष विशेष रूप से उपस्थित थे ।

A Secret Millionaire star and her estranged businessman husband have hired top barristers in ‘£100m divorce fight’. Wealthy interior designer Simrin Choudhrie and estranged husband Bhanu Choudhrie, who is the son of an Indian billionaire, are fighting in the Family Division of the High Court in London. Baroness Fiona Shackleton, who represented Sir Paul McCartney, Prince Charles and Monty Python’s John Cleese in their divorce cases, is fighting in Mrs Choudhrie’s corner. Nicknamed ‘Steel Magnolia’ for her resolute demeanour, Baroness Shackleton sits as a Tory peer in the House of Lords.
Mr Choudhrie, son of billionaire and major Lib Dem donor Sudhir Choudhrie, has hired Ayesha Vardag, a favourite among ‘ultra-high-net-worth- clients dubbed the ‘Diva of Divorce’.
The couple and their legal teams attended a preliminary hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice Family Division today.
Mr Justice Cohen said no detail of the private hearing could be reported.
Indian-British businessman Mr Choudhrie, 40, has global investments in healthcare, hospitality, banking, real estate, aviation and utilities.
Both he and his father have donated to the Lib Dems, while Mrs Choudhrie has worked as a campaign assistant for the party’s former deputy leader Simon Hughes.
She is now best known as an interior designer after boosting her profile in a 2010 appearance on reality show The Secret Millionaire, which saw her go undercover.
The Choudhries reportedly lived together in a £20million Grade II listed home in London’s Belgravia before their relationship soured.
Their divorce case was adjourned following today’s preliminary hearing.
